Blue Ridge Parkway Tesla Drive hosted by Tesla Owners Club of NC Triangle - Asheville, NC

The president of a Tesla Owners in North Carolina has invited us to participate in their 2^nd Annual BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY TESLA DRIVE. This event is hosted by the Tesla Owners Club of NC Triangle. Please read the link above for details and if interested click on their registration link.

We are also creating an event here on our website to keep track of the level of interest of our membership.

Summary

A large group of Teslas (60-100) will be gathering at the Asheville, North Carolina Supercharger Station on the morning of Saturday, September 21, 2019. There they will form a silent caravan through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The drive will travel 78 miles on the parkway through hairpin curves, steep grades, and many tunnels, climbing to an altitude above 6000 feet at one point. After reaching the end of the parkway, the direct trip back to the supercharger is 52 miles, making the entire loop 130 miles. There is no fee to participate in the Drive.

Following the drive on Saturday night there will be an optional group social and dinner event in the ballroom of the Asheville Crowne Plaza. To attend the evening event, there is a $45 per person charge to cover the event space, dinner buffet, service fees, and taxes. Children 10 to 4 are $22 and children 3 and under are free.

It will be your responsibility to book rooms at the Asheville Crowne Plaza Hotel. Nightly rates are about $300/night including taxes. Staying at the Asheville Crowne Plaza is completely optional.

Tentative Schedule

10:00 AM	Check-in opens by the Asheville Supercharger through 1:45 PM
2:00 PM	Depart from the Supercharger for Blue Ridge Parkway drive
6:00 PM	Doors open at Crowne Plaza for evening event
7:00 PM	Dinner buffet is open
8:30 PM	Dinner buffet is closed but social event continues
Late (TBD)	Ballroom doors close and event is concluded
