Reserving a Stateroom
After you register to attend this event, you will receive an automated message with booking instructions to join our Tesla Group package. Due to COVID cabin fever, there is a high demand for cruising, and staterooms are booking up quickly. Our Princess agent will be on the lookout for promotions or discounts, and if they materialize, she will apply them to our group package. We recommend that you book early to reserve your stateroom. You will have until November 2021 to cancel and get your deposit returned without penalty.
COVID-19 Considerations
We are proceeding with this club event.
At this time, the various cruise lines, including Princess Cruises, are implementing COVID-19 measures to minimize the risk to their guests. We believe that these measures will adequately address the safety of our fully vaccinated members and their guests.
We strongly recommend that all members eligible to be vaccinated do so, including booster shots, especially if you intend to take this cruise. Being vaccinated will enhance your safety and improve your onboard experience. For that reason Princess Cruises will not permit you to bring children under the age of 5 since they currently are not eligible for vaccines.
Here are Princess Cruise's COVID-19 Guest Protocols as of January 11, 2022.
The protocols have been updated, and currently, they state that guests will be asked to confirm their status as fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination in advance of boarding. They also require ALL fully vaccinated guests to produce a negative, medically-observed viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within 2 days of their embarkation on all Princess sailings.
Here is a link to Princess's Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) as of February 14, 2022. In particular, please address your attention to the Before You Sail questions.
Please note that the FAQ does not explicitly make exceptions for individuals who, under applicable laws, have a medical or religious exemption from being vaccinated. In the unlikely event that a vaccination exception is granted, guests must comply with applicable CDC requirements. This may involve showing proof of negative PCR test results before embarkation and paying for and passing additional tests at the terminal. They must also wear a face mask indoors, maintain physical distancing, are limited on which shore excursion they can take or venues that they can attend.
Group Events:
Whether we organize group events together will depend on how many sign up for this cruise. Depending on the course of the pandemic, there may still be requirements for some level of COVID-19 protocols that could limit our degree of social interaction.
Each port of call can be experienced individually or through the excursions that Princess offers. Fully vaccinated guests may choose to explore destinations independently on self-guided tours. Unvaccinated guests, if any, will only be permitted to go ashore through shore excursions sold by or through Princess.
Cruise Parking
Princess ships generally berth at Pier 2/Terminal 2 in Port Everglades. On days when multiple ships are in port, another berth may be assigned. Ship pier/terminal assignments are posted at the entrance of the port and will direct you to the appropriate location.
There is a 6-level parking garage adjacent to terminal 2 that costs $15 per day. (Price is subject to change.)
Nearest Superchargers
Terminal 2 is about 10 miles east of the Plantation Supercharger Station. It is about 15 miles north of the Aventura Supercharger Station and about 34 miles south of the Delray Beach Supercharger Station. If you plan to leave your Tesla parked for the 10 days unplugged, it would be prudent to leave it with an adequate charge because it will lose charge during the cruise.
Hotels
For anyone interested in staying at a hotel the night before departure, Hyatt has two nearby hotels with Tesla Destination Chargers.
Hyatt House Ft. Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port
Hyatt Place Ft. Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port
Both hotels are about 6 miles from the cruise port. Their locations are programmed into your Tesla's navigation system.
We look forward to seeing many of you on this Cruise!
